In May 2008, The Kamina Project hosted six United Methodist pastors from North Katanga on a two-week tour of the South Indiana Conference. These leaders were in the USA as delegates to The United Methodist Church's 2008 General Conference in Texas, so Dad and I drove down to Ft. Worth and picked up six of the nearly 50 North Katanga delegates* (others were hosted by other North Katanga Partnership conferences).  Along the way, our caravan had many adventures and enjoyed the hospitality of more congregations and individuals than can be named in this short report.  We send out a great big "Wafwako!" (thank-you) to all who gave of their time and resources to make this visit such a success. Special thanks to seminarian Stephanie Jones (pictured above) who volunteered several days as an interpreter and chauffeur.

* This year North Katanga received the largest number of delegates to General Conference of any conference in our denomination because, by membership roles, North Katanga is the largest conference in The United Methodist Church.
