Community Programs
During our two-week journey around South Indiana, we visited rural and urban community programs: sliding -scale daycares, bilingual legal clinics, addiction recovery housing, food and clothing closets, literacy and computer programs, The United Methodist Children's Home, and a tour of some of Metro Ministries' centers. Rev. Mulongo even spoke at the chapel services at the transitional prison in Plainfield. The Congolese pastors were touched and inspired by what they observed. I wish I had pictures from all our visits!

Not a classic community program, but this composting toilet used by our hosts to fertilize an organic garden inspired our Congolese visitors to try to build ones like it back home. |
